What's the deal with Milwaukie and pickles please? Last night we stopped for dessert at

Milwaukie Frozen Custard in Herndon, VA (about 20 miles due west of DC). The frozen custard was delicious but there were quart size jars of pickles on the counter in two sizes, baby and midget. I don't get it, what am I missing?

Well, Milwaukee (WI) is a good German town and.....

Good Germans always seem to have pickled something around. Sauerkraut, cukes, you name it. I imagine that is why. To me, who grew up sort of near Milwaukee, the idea of putting the name Milwaukee with frozen custard makes me chuckle.

Ya, you betcha, we Germans love our pickled stuff!
