So just wondering. Did everyone stop cooking! Paul put his life on the line to preserve the Swap and a few have come. It's a great place. So again, just wondering where everyone is. Its fun to join IN on a menu/recipe/discussion. It's fun to start one as several have and are doing.

COME ON DOWN as the saying goes.
Taking my life in my hands for posting this. LOL I do value this place.

I've been wondering the same thing, for months now. I went to make a concoction that Pat posted years ago, and which I have made many times but not lately. I had not made a copy as I was always making it from memory. I could not find it. This community has become vital for me. That's just an obvious example but I do miss the discussions about various products, methods, recipes, altered recipes, and life experiences.

So I wondered, why is Pat not here. Then all the others that used to be regulars.

Paul has clearly devoted months of his personal time to the continuance of this site. If it does not get hits, there will be no future financial support for it, commercially. I so appreciate this effort and want to support it in the way that I can.

So many contributors are absent. What has happened to us? Where are you people and what are you doing?? Have all the old folks received an invite to join?

Is there something I can do to help?

I don't know the answer but I suspect there is a multitude of issues here.. Life/personal changes, confusion over the new domain/address. Crotchety old people who don't want to learn how to use the new site.. and their counterpart: Young people who think the new site is too old school and won't use it because they have to expend the Herculean effort to click things (and there is no Twitch or TikTok integration)... The search engine traffic from the old site does not redirect to this new site so less visitors.

I do know that on several occasions a member has contacted me by email and asked me for help; I reply; then no response to my reply. I check back again but still no response and I never hear from them again.

What can you do? 1) tell your friends 2) send me feedback. If there is something confusing or frustrating I won't take it as an insult. I need this feedback to improve things.

Also use the Contact link at the bottom of the site. This will ensure that I get it and eliminate the possibility of typos in email. if your friend says that they contacted me and I never replied they are just wrong. I reply to everyone and normally very quickly. Either they mistyped my email address or sent to the wrong person or my response went to their spam/junk folder. They should check their spam folder.

I am guilty of not logging in nearly as often as I used to. My habit had been to visit this site whenever I had a free lunch hour or during the occasional down time at my little part time job. Well, for some reason this new recipeswap site presents itself to the business software as being a blog (none of the older sites did) which means the "powers that be" have automatic blocks in place preventing me or any employee from logging in at work.

I also love this site. It has saved me many times by letting me access recipes I have misplaced, or by giving me assistance regarding a cooking technique I am not familiar with, or by having other swapsters offer innumerable helpful suggestions to some other cooking dilemma I have encountered. Thanks for pointing this out, Charley! Wigs

To be 100% honest, I slowed up posting because it had begun to look like I was making this my own personal site...post after post from "my face".

I love this site--and with all my heart--appreciate all the work Paul has put into it. If ya'll aren't tired of seeing it, I'll write up three things I've been wanting to post.

(Plus I've been eating my prepped and frozen meals because it's so jam-packed, I almost couldn't close the drawer.)

Yes, post away!

I sort of assumed some of you might be connecting via FB, but I donā€™t use it, so hope folks who do spread the word to come on over. šŸ˜Š

Please don't stop posting!

I'm afraid I am one of the guilty parties. I read and think about posting, but then just move on.

I promise to try harder to participate, not just scan.

I do the same..I read but haven't posted.

I did receive an interesting cookie plate from my Amish friend. She made round sugar cookies, White icing that wasn't too firm, and on each cookie she sprinkled a different flavor of jello powder. She gave me 6 cookies with 6 different flavors. Maybe you have heard of this but I hadn't! Always learning something new.

Yes, I am one of the sinners, too. But I'm a teacher, and I'm so tired. I feel guilty right now (at 10 pm) that I am here and not working. I'll try to post.

As my laptop died shortly after NY's I've had constant problems accessing the site on my new laptop. Using the bookmark I created, I was unable to log in, and thought maybe the site was having some issues. Finally, after organizing/decluttering my cupboards and doing all the possible garden cleanup to be done, I finally had the time to figure out my dilemma yesterday and today. At first I thought it was my browser so moved to another, which created more problems. Finally, I abandoned my bookmark and googled for the page instead and -BINGO- I'm back here! So I'm wondering if something happened to the bookmarked link for others in January, like it did with me? Hopefully they'll find their way back.

Are the posts subject to moderator approval? Two of my posts have not shown up, so maybe I'm not out of the woods yet.

Hi, my daughter found this site for me. Not sure how, but she knows I love collecting recipes (and sharing them). I would love to help get this site up and running. From what I have read so far, it was a great site. The few members I have met so far, are very nice, friendly and very helpful.

Soo, as the name says, let's swap some recipes and get this place going again.

I have been spending a lot of time recently weeding out my recipe binders and filing away other recipes. The past few days I have been working on filing away recipes for the state of Florida. I have them sorted by counties, then by the name of the restaurant. So, I would love to type up some of them if it is ok with you all. Oh and......I always take requests. lol

"Crotchety old people who donā€™t want to learn how to use the new site.. "

Paul, I am one of those "crotchety old people" and trying like heck to use this site.
