Where do you buy muscovado sugar? I have tried Whole Foods, TJ, Wegmans and

several healthfood stores. Is there an certain ethnic store that I should be going to? I found some on amazon, $6.95 for a lb and $6.99 to ship!! Not!

You can sub one cup of turbinado sugar mixed with one tablespoon of...

...molasses for the same quantity of muscovado sugar.

try Walmart in their Mexican food section. they have some hard to find things there sometimes.

like LaLechera dulce de leche in a squeeze bottle. yum.

Can you substitute piloncilo? Latin American markets usually have it.

Barb, here they usual have the muscavado sugar on the top shelf in the baking isle. Easy to miss

It's sold in a much smaller package than you might imagine (about the size of my hand). Having ponied up the big money for it once, I'd be wary of buying it again. I'm not sure it's worth it.

What recipe are you using it in?
