Where is everyone lately? This place is like a ghost town. Is anyone out there???

I was thinking the same thing yesterday......has the election scared

everyone away and thev've gone into hiding?

Just been busy & going crazy. Test run of my 2nd dessert for the final is due tomorrow night....

and I'm down to the last minute as usual making it. Between DD & DH they are driving me nuts. I need a break from my family! Calgon can't take me away far enough!!!!!!!

I'll be glad when this semester is over. Next semester won't be easy but atleast I don't think I'll have to worry with having to do 'homework' assignments - reading and studying, yes, but full blown cooked projects to take to class, no. As much as I love to cook, I don't like this type of homework.

OH - however, I did make this Beef & Guiness pie last night & it's so YUMMY

and perfect for this time of year. I don't make it often but when I do, I wonder why I don't make it more because it's really pretty easy and impressive if you have some fun with the puff pastry. When I have the time I like to make Nick Malgerie's quickest puff pastry with REAL butter unlike the freezer case stuff. It's perfect for this.

was thinking that last night, realized we haven't seen Marianne for a while??anyone hear from her?

Nan, its so nice to be remembered...(recipe link to a delicious Butternut Squash and Crab Bisque)

I check in with you every morning, but I need to do better about adding to the fray. Thanks for reminding me. Jus ol debil procrastination, I guess!

I made this bisque last week, and I've never tasted better. I upped the crab meat to 1 lb of claw meat, and added 1 T of dry sherry to each bowl. It tasted even better the second day. I think it needs resting time for the flavors to meld.

I'm here, but lurking, these days. Going through a cooking rut... Too many worries about the economy

to get very excited about anything. smileys/frown.gif

Good thing take-out has been elevated to an art form, here in NY!
