Whew! Roquefort loves can breathe easier.

I have been wondering how the cancer rate and longevity rate compares, given the differences

in the way we eat.

I took a CDN roast of beef, frozen, to a friend in France last year, just in case she wanted to try something different. I think when I wasn't looking, she snubbed it. I'm betting, in fact, that she threw it out.

In addition, I've read that the French believe that red meat in general is very bad for one's

health. "Stay away from the cow" (sans red meat) is part of their philosophy for a healthy diet.

This is why so much of the world thinks the US is arrogant and pompous...

If the Europeans do not want to eat growth hormones in their food, why does the US think they have the right to, literally, shove it down the Europeans throat, regardless of whether the US thinks it is safe?

Personally, I'm siding with Europe on this one. This is why I buy most of my meat from local organic farmers.

Big Uncle Sam does not know all.

Richard...years ago when I was working for the City, I interviewed a couple from Europe

who wanted to volunteer their time in City departments. I cannot recall which part of Europe they were from. They informed me that they were both ill with mysterious ailments. They had moved into a new home and felt their troubles started there. Carpets, paint, new furniture etc. all have poisonous emissions they were not used to. They told me in Europe, things are built cleaner....I guess "green" would sum up what they were telling me. they ended up moving back to Europe. Given the amount of Europeans who move here and do fine, I can't help but think that perhaps they did not like America and were over stressed.
