I made a batch yesterday using mini chocolate chunks in place of the choco chips and mint truffle kisses. They turned out great! I can see lots of possible combinations:

1. walnut pieces i/o chips and caramel kisses

2. crushed candy cane pieces i/o chocolate chips with a white chocolate kiss

3. white chocolate chips with a dark chocolate kiss

etc......

I found that if I rolled the dough between my hands instead of just dropping it the cookies came out a little more compact. Not any better or worse, just a bit different.
