We stopped by Big John's Pacific Food Imports for a little drool worthy food shopping. Chocolate ladies, we found a few treasures for you (that's Nan in the link below.)

On the swap, we were talking about San Marzano tomatoes. Here's the selection at Big John's...

After all that shopping, we stopped for a bite. Since Nan had never had Ethiopian, I took her to one of my favorite spots. We both agreed...it's time to dig out our African cookbooks and give Ethiopian a whirl. I love the bold flavors. (This is a 4 meat combo for $20. The photo is a bit misleading. Those portions are well over a cup each. We struggled and managed to eat about half of this.)

What a lovely visit....Nan's making the trek down to Randi now and with any luck, they'll have some good mushroom hunting!

You forgot about the great Ethopian beer, heheh. I am not a big beer drinker (medium sized) but it

was the perfct thing with that wonderful grub. And was surprised since some people here listed Ethiopian bread as a disliked food. It is very different, but I damn, I really liked it?
That market was amazing, I could have filled a truck. Will be going there to do a bit of shopping next time I am getting a ship stocked.
And we all know Traca is smart, great writing and food skills, she is also pretty, funny, and a gracious hostess. Oh, and a good driver too!
Had crazy traffic, left Seattle area around 3 pm

It was bumper to bumper all the way to the airport and then about ten miles down the road slowed to stop and go all the way to Tacoma (about 30 miles). Then was crawling along to Olympia, where I seems to always take a wrong turn. Got my butt back on the road and stayed here in Tumwater.
Off to see Randi today, have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!

Yes, Traca is a good driver, she buzzed me around Seattle showing some

great foodie highlights. I'm so glad you two got to meet Nan. Have a great time with Randi and pleeeez give her a bigggg hug from me.

Missy...I'll have to give those a try. I bought two varieties once -- one was good the other

not so much. And now, I can't remember which was which! Next time, I'll just look for the white lable. I can remember that! ; )

nan, will that callebaut fit in your carry-on? or maybe the ferry isn't so limited about baggage.

awww, was just messing with Marilyn! actually, I do have my vehicle, hehe, all that pasta and stuff!
