edited to add: I used ancho chili powder too, might try a different chili powder next time to see how that turns out. The chili powder definitely adds a unique flavor to the dish...shakes it up from regular beef stroganoff. I'd also like to try it some time using a less expensive cut of beef, like maybe top sirloin or sirloin tips.

Hi, Pat-NoCal, and I'm so very glad to hear you liked my Beef Stroganoff recipe. Believe

me when I say that I thought long & hard about putting that chile powder into the mix--I seriously toyed with the idea of reducing the amount so I wouldn't "ruin" all that expensive beef tenderloin, but I finally decided to go for it as written and was quite happy I did because the end result was delicious.

I think you are the first person to report back on that recipe so I'll wait until some others make and critique it before I enter it into FK's T & T section.

PS to LisainLA--What a nightmare for you! Hope you didn't lose too much food when your ice box went on the fritz. Wigs
