Wildwoods and Marg, I made the oven fries that Wildwoods posted from CI, but I soaked them longer

Good good. Now try them with truffle oil. A bit more than I used the first time. I did more and

like it more. There's a strong aftertaste from truffle oil.

I do my sticks 3/8". And huge grinding of gray sea salt.

H is out scouting around for long potatoes now. We gon'e through 15 pounds in 3 weeks.

 
Sounds wonderful, I was under the impression you weren't supposed to cook in the truffle oil, just

use it as a condiment? Is that not so?

 
That's how I use it on the rare occasion that I have it. It's great on eggs - so mild that I'd

think it would get lost in the oven roasting, but I guess not.
