I just received this announcement from the Theo's Chocolate newsletter (Seattle's own botique chocolates). If you're interested, contact them (e-mail below):

Be a Theo Chocolate

BRAND AMBASSADOR!

Do you want to share your love of Theo Chocolate with your community ? We are looking for chocolate loving people to help us tell our story and sample chocolate at events and in stores. This is very part-time and we pay in chocolate, a small stipend and intense appreciation. In 2007 we are kicking off the ambassador program in the following cities:

* San Francisco

* Boulder

* Austin

* Metro DC

* Chicago

* New York

* Boston

* Minneapolis

* Los Angeles

If you live in any of these areas and are interested in receiving more information please contact phinckley@theochocolate.com.

HA! I'll go make up my cardboard sign now smileys/smile.gif I've never heard of this Theo's Chocolate...

Have you tried it? How does it compare to others? And... are you signing up?!

I know the folks over at Theo's and had more "informal" tours...but

those I know who have been on the official tour, really enjoyed it. One friend said they sampled so much chocolate, he asked for a to go bag! For $5, that tour is a bargain.

If your city is not on the list, I'd shoot them an e-mail and tell them

you'd be willing to work for chocolate. You never know...

Fiori Chocolate makes me SWOON! I took a chocolate tasting class

with Lee before he got so busy. I learned more out of that one class than I had any other source. Fiori chocolates are amazing....

Another one to keep your eye out for is Bakery Nouveau's chocolates. YUM. The guy who makes those was the captain for the US team that WON the World Baking Championship. He opened a shop in West Seattle and is doing bread, pastries, and chocolate. And surprisingly, he's doing a great job with all of them. His chocolates are excellent. (And his twice baked almond croissant is the best thing I've EVER put in my mouth!)
