i had a sebaceous cyst (benign) removed two days ago which takes 2 vicodins every 4 hours to control the pain.

also i have had debilitating migraines for 4 weeks which required high doses of amadrine to control. not quite caligula's thundering horses but close.

if my posts seem any more outrageous than normal, i have an excuse.

I work for the USDPH and conduct research on how Americans get their health care and how they pay for it. One of my cases is a doctor who suffers from migraines and has some relief with acupuncture. I suffered as well but as we age, sigh, they tend to dissapate. I had good luck with that old standby, Fiorinal.

By the way, did you know that migraines cause the most missed days of work in the US? Hope you feel better soon.

Oh dear. Let's hope the surgery takes care of the migraines soon and

that all will be well. I know the pain of migraines from the days when there was no way to deal with them.

You---as head chef---have a small but elite group of sous chefs working for you, trying to discover why the flambé isn't flambéing and the sous aren't sousing.

Each week you'll take an ethnic menu and eviscerate it, trying to de-mystify why the sauce breaks ONLY on Wednesday evenings between 6:45 and 8:14 PM...why the pain in your head only goes away after pounding it with a meat tenderizer, and why FOX hasn't picked up a poety-spouting culinary misanthrope?
