And I hope you brought sweaters and an umbrella... smileys/irritated.gif p.s. If you're at all into performing arts,

the NYPL Performing Arts Library has a great exhibit up now of "Carousel" memorabilia--original set and costume designs, etc. And it's fun to just kick around in there (if you need someplace to stay dry)!

ETA: This branch of the NYPL is just left of the Vivian Beaumont--and to the right of the Met.

I am ready to go back!

We had so much going on that we didn't have things planned out the best this time and Jeff had some "health" issues so we took it slow and easy.

We stayed in THE MOST WONDERFUL AirBnB on the UWS. It was perfect. It felt like home and we wound up sort of spending more time in the neighborhood than planned but we loved it and felt more like residents than tourist. We were on West 86th between Columbus and Amsterdam and one block either direction put us on Central Park West or Broadway. Talk about convenient. A subway a block and a half away either direction.

When we got there Tuesday the heat was miserable. Same temp as Nashville but the heat index was higher than Nashville. Wednesday was a little better but then Thursday was the worst. I don't handle heat well, my body overheats. So we did Natural History Museum that was only a few blocks away one day. Walked Central Park and went to the Met. At night we went to Chinatown and Little Italy. It cooled down Friday but then rain moved in. Cleared back off just as we left.

I want a Fairway grocery, a Zabar's complete with Frank at the Deli, and Levain!
