Would panna cotta go with rhubarb?

I want to serve panna cotta. An orangey roasted rhubarb fits the seasonal, local requirement, but for some reason it's not coming together in my mouth. Is my instinct right or wrong?

In the recipe for the rhubarb, it's served with a spoonful of fresh ricotta, which would be great except I'm serving ricotta gnocchi as the main, and it's too late for me to be changing the main.

I chickened out. Served the rhubarb with creme fraiche and madeleines. But the rhubarb was great

(a recipe from the River Cafe) so for next time I know the combo would work well. In fact we might have it ourselves this weekend. Thanks for everyone's opinions, though.

River Cafe. Are there any recipes in there that are spectacular? I've never used it

as I just can't get excited about what I see in it. Seems a waste of a rather expensive volume sitting there.

My rhubarb is about 8" high now and I'll try your method of serving it.
