In my little herb garden I planted a few chard plants this spring. Well, they seem to love it and got big and full of beautiful red veined leaves. I harvested them yesterday morning and tried out this recipe from Epi.

I have never roasted garbanzos. I read the reviews and found that most people just drizzled the garbanzos with oil not using the 1+C listed in the recipe. They tuned out deliciously creamy!

I also did the chard just a tad differently. First I couldn't handle the idea of throwing away all those beautiful red stems. so I chopped them along with onion i/o shallot and sauteed them in a bit of OO then added the chard pieces. I didn't quite use 2C of broth either. Just enought to totally wilt the chard and then let it boil away.

I also sauteed some shrimp that were in the freezer. I served it all in a deep pasta bowl, a big scoop of beans next to a big scoop of chard followed by a handful of shrimp. DH could not get enough of it. I was very surprised at how much he loved it! It was really good smileys/smile.gif

Yes, very good!

I had 1 bunch of kale from the farmers' market so I cut the recipe in half, followed your suggestions for the stems, broth and oil (only used 1/4 cup), and subbed kale for the swiss chard - we loved it. I'll be looking for chard and shrimp next time so I can make this again! Colleen

I can't eat chard, wish I could. It makes my teeth unbearably "fuzzy", even if I blanch it. nuts.
