YEAH! We went down the hill and saw Julie & Julia this morning. SO worth it.

We didn't get anything we should have done but the movie was so worth it. Was very surprised (and so was hubby) at how sexy the movie was.

I saw it this afternoon and found it to be an excellent and endearing movie. Yes a bit of

tantalization was thrown in but I didn't find it overdone.

Grrrreat movie!!!

Edited to say I laughed a lot too. In fact, I was in tears a few times!

Wouldn't it be fun for us to replicate what Julie tried to accomplish if only every two weeks?

We could bounce around between chapters of Julia's cookbook and we could all try one of her classic recipes and critique/comment on them?

Quite frankly, I don't have Julia Child's cookbooks but thought it might inspire us to really follow in the Master's footsteps like Julie did.

Can we call it Club Julia??

Any thoughts as to how we could do this? Would anyone like to throw out some recipes in print here for us to master?

That does sound like fun. Many moons ago friends got together and did a meal from Julia Child and..

Company. It was the corned pork dinner. I corned the pork shoulder and we replicated the whole dinner. It was great.

Cool, aajay! We could choose from two options: savory or other* every two weeks

* desserts/appetizers, etc. so that everyone here could be involved.

Five friends and I are getting together to see Julie & Julia next Friday afternoon. Then we're

returning to our place for a dinner. Each of us is preparing a dish from Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Of course the wines will be French as well. Here's the menu:

Mary: Pate

Rosemarie: Amuse-Gueule au Roquefort

Sheila: Soupe a L’Oignon

Sylvia: Coq au Vin

Bev: Salade de Poivrons Provencale

Francine: Clafouti au Bluet

Should be a fun party.
