YeeeHAA! silly question, but then I am a dummy...how do I get to see the first page????nt

You're on the first page....so view the original posts....

click on Page 2, at either the top of the page, or the bottom. It toook me a few minutes to figure out what was happening with the page #'s.

Hi joanie1! Page 1 currently shows posts 24-73 (or thereabouts)...

(If someone posts a new post after I write this, it might change by one, or two.)

Page 2 shows posts 1-23.

To see page 2, at the top and bottom of the page it says "Page 1 2". The 2 is clickable. Click on it, and it will take you to page 2.

Page 1 will always be the most recent page, and page 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. will be the older pages, with page 5 being the oldest page (for example).

We can't change that because down the line we would be on Page 43,234 and it will invite us to click on 43233, 43,232 and 43,231. That would be too weird.

Oh dear, now I'm up to 100 posts.

Right, I am so tired I'm being silly than usual.....>

How do I drop the 1 in my name and just go back to being joanie.
How do I mark just each line of post that I've read...I pressed the marked as read part and now the whole page is black.
Am I just too tired to be here? Maybe bed is calling, it's been a long day, but once again a quick check in is on my evening agenda. Great swap THANKS

You can be just Joanie...

Just give me the word, and I will delete joanie1_ and you can re-register.

When you read a post, then go back to the main forum, the subject of the post you've just read should turn a dark khaki color. Un-read posts should be dark red. Now that you've clicked on "Mark Read" all your posts (including the NT's that you don't need to open to read) will be dark khaki, but any new posts that come in from now on will be red, until you click on them, and the ones you click on will turn dark khaki, or until you click on Mark Read again (to also turn the NTs and the one's you're not interested in dark khaki as well).

I am getting tired too, I hope that makes sense!)

Mimi, can you answer inside the above

I liked the burgandy coloured letters but now they are black after I "marked as read"
Is it possible for me to make my script bold. Easier for me to read. Thanks
Hugs

Mimi dear, let's try this next time...I'm >>>>

not getting kahki it looks black to me. The names i.e. yours, mine etc are great for me to read, if the post was that font and the names the size of the posts t'wd be even better..... but I do thank you for you help...tomorrow with luck but it will prolly be WED. Hugs again and nighty-nite

I'm going to work on making the un-read posts bold...

to make them easier to find. Read posts will remain in a thin font because, well, you've already read them! And an all-bold page would be too much.

I will probably work on this tomorrow. Assuming I succeed, we can then poll the group to see how they like it.

As to khaki vs. black, I don't know, it's probably the color setting on your monitor. But it's subtle, it's quite dark. I can tell the difference, though: the post numbers are black, the text next to them is dark khaki. It was a lighter khaki earlier but people told me there wasn't enough contrast and it was hard to read.

(Oops - hit a key and accidently posted that) The bolding...

really makes the unread messages jump out now. I vote to keep.

Wow, everything went bold!

I'll go along with what everyone wants -- having this site is too fab, but if I were to vote it actually was easier for me, as well as my eyes, to read when the font was normal and only the color changed from red to black or blackish. I say that because often I find myself wanting to go back to something I already read and it's a bit harder for me to find it now with everything bold...using dial-up one doesn't open all the posts. Before (since I happen to have a 2nd window still open from this morning) only people's names were bold making it extra easy to find posts if I knew who I was looking for. Also, the bold font is a bit blurry, so a little harder on my eyes but then again that could just be me, lol!

Again, I'll happily go along with what others want.

Mimi, you rock for doing all this!!

This is a very cool feature! (Obviously, I am one of the 3) Try it! I am confident (m)

that if you try it you will like it! (Assuming that you are like me, and check in to Finer Kitchens often!)

Regards,
Barb

I LOVE THE WAY IT IS... very easy for me to read now.Maybe reading glasses are still a few years off

It looks GREAT, Mimi. And Seinfeld's J. Peterman would say "Khaki underbrim fights glare...") I love it.

Top of the page, in the Forum menu just under "Lowest Price Guarantee" and >>

just to the right of "Post New."
