Yesterday at Target I picked up a red Senseo single cup and a George Forman Grill and Broil grill...

for $9.34 each because they didn't come with a box or manuels. Make that Foreman, not Forman.

I think they may have been floor models. I really like the coffee maker, it's ease and speed. I am wondering if you have any recommendations for the coffee pods to use with it. I was also wondering if I could use my wire mesh tea infuser to put my own coffee in and use it as a pod. Does anyone have any experience with this machine and can recommend a coffee brand. I like my coffee strong and black, if that helps.

Also is there an easy way to clean the GF grill? I am not so impressed with the ease of clean-up. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the top off, or if it even comes off.

What do you all make with the GF grill? Thanks!

OMG $9.34 for a Senseo??? I am so green with envy!!!!....

Ok with the coffee maker, I tried to use my own coffee with all sorts of "inventive" ways to brew it. From my humble opinion, DONT try it!!! A BIG monster mess ensued, and coffee was all over the place! Thank Goodness I was alone, or I would have been really embarrassed instead of just feeling stupid! If you like strong coffee Starbucks now puts out pods as does Senseo, they ( Senseo) actually sell their pods in the Wal-Mart and have a dark roast. The other places that sell the pods with lots of selection are Linen's and Things and Bed and Bath.
I also have a GF grill, it's the little one, because I really don't need a big honkin' grill on my counter to make one chicken breast. I clean it with a damp soapy sponge and get rid of the soap with wet paper towels. The top does not come off and even though it's non-stick I still spray it before I use it. I make chicken on it, and steaks, and skewered shrimp. You can prolly go to the web sites of Senseo and GF and ask them to mail you the manuals.
Have fun, and many snaps to you on your bargains!!!

Thanks marg! You should check out your Target...

they had all kinds of small appliances on sale. They had crockpots for $10 and those small dorm refrigerators for $45. I am going back today to see what else they have...lol. I did end up buying a product from Amazon called Coffeeduck, that lets you fill with your own coffee and I would imagine tea. It had very good reviews and with s&h cost about $20. It is worth it to me to be able to use my own coffee. Thanks for the info!

We make grilled chicken and hamburgs a lot on them. Grilled fruit is

also something special, for breakfast, dessert, etc.

If you could post the link, I would appreciate it. I am loving the Senseo

coffee machine. I ordered something called a Coffeeduck, that allows you to use your own coffees and grinds. It is fast, the coffee is hot, and I am getting ready to pitch the old coffee maker.

Senseo

I've been using the Senseo about a year. My hubby doesn't drink coffee, so the single serve has been a blessing. You can search the web and find some options other than the Douwe Egberts - I found some options at American Coffee Service's website. Also, in Europe, Senseo has an espresso attachment which I love but can't seem to find pods for since they're not for sale here! As far as finding a variety of pods, I've had some success with eBay. Also try the refillable pods - but I would not use anything that wasn't marketed for a Senseo because it could be dangerous, or at the least, very messy (due to steam pressure). Hope this helps!

Hi dwavle...

I am waiting for my CoffeeDuck to be delivered. I will experiment with different coffees to see what I like. I love this machine. I bought some Kenya and Sumatra put out by Senseo, and I like them too. Thanks for your advice! And welcome to our forum.

thanks

Thanks for the welcome - I've been a lurker for a long time and really enjoy reading and catching up with what's going on. By the way, I'm a Dawn too. smileys/smile.gif
