Yoo hoo, Marg,CDN....... how'd the installation of the cooktop turn out??? NT

Good thing I phoned before I went to get it. Won't be here until Thursday now. So I'm going

to wait a few days and get a new microwave as well.

If it takes much longer, it'll be a new countertop too (and that means a new floor)

did you get the model with the electronic touch controls or the dials?

BIG TIP:

When the workmen install the cooktop, don't let them stand on it to adjust a cabinet. They break.

I know.

Mine was installed on the Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving. I was ready to stay up all night cooking. The big oaf climbed up on the counter, walked across and planted a foot right in the middle of the cooktop.

CRACK!

Murphy rules.

That kind of stupidity makes me boil. I'm getting the microwave in overhead first for just that

reason, but the big oaf will be my husband.

I had my walls being refinished in the Caribbean. There one might expect that kind of disaster. I went into the kitchen and found this 230 pounder lolling on top of the overhead cabinets full of china. Even now, that site catches my breath. I don't know how it all remained on the wall.

AAARRRGH !!!

Must have been the same oaf who tarped our roof after the hurricanes and put his foot through...

a perfectly fine large skylight. Now, not only were we missing most of our roof shingles, we had direct access to God and all outdoors from the living room.

I broke my cooktop because the microwave is over it....

I was taking a dish out of the microwave and it was a bit heavy and slipped out of my hand - right onto the cooktop. The dish didn't break but the cooktop did. For what it cost to replace - I wish the dish had broken.

I burnt out my microwave, after having boiling kettles beneath it and didn't

consider what the condensation would do to the microwave electronics. Went to nuke a cup of coffee and ZAP, there went my microwave.
