your recipe for Rum Balls posted in T&T? I'm not good at baking and want to make these for the Holidays. Do you use the entire 1/2 cup of bourbon and then you just drizzle honey and rum into it until it is as sweet as you like? I think it must be a fairly thick dough to form into balls. I hardly ever make cookies so I'm really a dummy about this. Maybe I should just skip this recipe for a more dummy proof one?

RUM BALLS

4 cups graham cracker crumbs

1 cup cocoa

3 cups finely chopped walnuts

honey

1 cup rum

1/2 cup bourbon

powdered sugar

Use honey to get the sweetness you want, and use rum to get the consistency you want.

Roll into smallish balls - they're very rich, so small will be appreciated. Roll in powdered sugar. Place into a cleaned airtight container for months. When you take them out to serve, they will not be ball shaped any more, so re-roll them.

Actually, it's Sylvia in Ottawa's recipe - Yoo Hoo Sylvia.......

I just copied a huge thread of recipes posted by various posters over at Epi smileys/smile.gif

Orchid, I use all the liquid called for in the recipe.

And, yes to your question about the honey. This recipe is fool-proof so don't worry about it. Once you've added all the ingredients....taste a bit and if you like it go onto rolling the little balls. For presentation I use tiny cups used for chocolates.
