YooHoo Traca, I want to talk to you about the Baked Meatballs with Walnuts, Almonds and Prunes

When I first read the name I envisioned meatballs with finely diced prunes and nuts in the meatballs and I thought it sounded so great. Then I found the recipe and realized it's not that at all. I always am true to a recipe but I cant' seem to get my brain away from what I envisioned. Would I completely destroy this meatball by doing that? Honestly, I even thought it would also have a little rice in it! sigh...

 
Hmm...I'm a fan of trying a recipe the way it was written the first time. But I think

chopped prunes wouldn't hurt, other than I worry that it might impact how it holds together. I might be inclined to try it. Why not make half a recipe the way it's written and half with the additions?
