buy an ice cream maker, toppings etc. I remember there was a thread on the best type to buy but since I didn't need one I didn't follow it.

Cuisinart? What model and, or size?

 
We have a Cuisinart ICE 45...it does soft serve

It doesn't make a lot but it is nice for 4-6 people. Makes great frozen yogurt and sherbet.

 
I think that was me. I decided on a Hamilton Beach 68320, but didn't

get it yet because you have to freeze the large bowl (1-1/2-quart) first, and my refrigerator went... but I digress. Hamilton Beach it will be this week.
