I can recommend the King Arthur Lemonade Cake recipe

Younger DD made it for Elder DD's wedding cake. The Lemonade cake has a lovely crumb, and is delicious. She used a different frosting from the one in the recipe, with mascarpone and lemon curd, which was also excellent, but as I get older, I prefer less frosting and I loved the cake by itself.
