A noteworthy day for this foodie

Oct 1 2010 marks exactly four years for me since I finished losing 97 lbs. It changed my life. More importantly, I changed my life.

I gained 12 lbs back but it is fine because I was too skinny. I need a bit of padding to sit comfortably smileys/smile.gif

Anyone can lose weight if they are truly motivated but keeping it off after a lifetime (60 yrs!) of battling it is something else. It means a total lifestyle change.

I'm not looking for congrats or anything- this is a private celebration really- but I want to let you know, especially those of you who battle like I used to, that it CAN be done. You CAN beat the demon. You CAN win. And still enjoy food and be a foodie!

Congratulations!! I think it's harder to keep it off than take it off, so double congrats!! smileys/smile.gif

I'm in the middle of the same battle and am about 20% of the way there. Thanks

so much for the inspiration. Some days I need it.

Hugh congrats Cathy. It takes a lot of determination and willpower to do what you did!

You should be very proud smileys/smile.gif

I am so impressed by your will power and determination! 10/1 must be a special day for you!

Kudos Cathy! As contrary as it seems, keeping it off is actually harder than losing it. Bravo!

You are truly an inspiration.

Congrats and thanks for the inspiration - I need it right now

I've lost about 12 pounds in the last 5 weeks. Still more to go - total goal is around 50 pounds. First two weeks lost 9 pounds so now it's getting harder. I've got to find time and inspiration to get more exercise. I will say that doing my internship is keeping me more active about 15 hours more a week and because the walk in is outside, downstairs under the deck, I am doing a good bit of going up and down stairs and noticed that I even started taking the steps a little more at work now as it no longer seems to leave me breathing hard.
