A package of 5 garlic bulbs for $1 at the local dollar store - now, what

This was the one I was actually looking for. REC: Sauted Garlic Cloves

I made this with one of those monster jars of garlic you can get at Costco or Sam's Club. It was really good and much lower in fat than most recipes like this. You can freeze it too.

I second that! I got one because of Richard's recommendation.

Mine holds approx. 4 large heads for over a month so far.

To make things even easier, mince the garlic first. Depending on the recipe, you can just spoon out

garlic and sherry together.

I saw a site where you make a "connfit" by slowly poaching the peeled garlic in oil...

If you want I can get the link off my other computer later this afternoon. Then it keeps in the frig for a long time.

I loved them, anytime I can reach in a jar and pull out 8 garlic cloves

to use without peeling, makes me happy.

P.S. The reason I usually store the garlic in the refrigerator is because I don't

like it to smell up the kitchen. Maybe I should try keeping it somewhere else, tightly wrapped!

It shouldn't smell that much ... no more than onions (which also shouldn't be

kept in the fridge, and can share space in a cool, dark cupboard with the garlic.
