About to make Meryl's Mexican Ice box cake and have a quick question

Do I line the bottom and sides with split ladyfingers (in other words, halves of ladyfingers) or whole ones? Thanks.

good choice kathleen. I'm pretty sure I split them and put them rounded side out on the sides---

standing up. Makes a very nice border and easy to cut in slices. I hope Meryl sees this for her input. If the ladyfingers are quite thin, then I would leave them whole.

 
I had never used them before but once I opened the package, I figured it out.

Going to top the cake with some strawberries and enjoy it this hot evening.
