I like rachel Ray....she is fresh and unique. She may pall after awhile but I've seen her trips on $40.00 a day and these have been interesting and informative.

I find Ina Garten's accent a bit offputting, how ever she has a great show and I am trying to be quicker with her accent.

Emeril is a showman...I'm not sure if I have seen a show that has kept me fully interested. The iron chef...Gee, I feel breathless after watching all this.

The grilling and BBQ shows are kind of interesting, I guess we do so much ourselves with the fire as there has been nothing much new to try on the shows we've watched, the folk are all fun to watch tho.

Sandra Lee ....well, all her simple food and her dress and props that match are quite fascinating....how many of us change the decor to match the food....

haven't see Giada much, only on some shows with others and no British cooks at all.

I find the decorating and gardening channels are more intruguing at the moment.

Paula Deen is fun to watch. I used to like watching the Cajun cook ...

just to try and figure out what the heck he was saying!! smileys/smile.gif

Oh my, I think if you have trouble with Ina's accent you will certainly be lost with Paula Deen. LOL

My wife and I were marveling at the amount of liquor used on Sandra Lee's show. I wonder if...

...her guests ever make it to the dessert.

Michael

That show is rather silly. Who dresses up their kitchen for each type of meal they are cooking?

I dislike all the boxed stuff she throws together, but I suppose here style of creating is right for some folks with very little time. Does she ever cook a fresh veggie or use fresh fruit? Sorry I rarely even catch a few minutes of her show.

My appologies chaps, I mean Paula Deen, Ina's accent is not so hard to....

understand. I realised my mistake as I loged out and have not been able to get back on line until now.

Dessert is store-bought angelfood cake with canned frosting. Wouldn't you drink up while you could?

Funny! You think Paula Deen's accent is hard to understand?! Lordy... you should hear my uncle!

Lol! Joe, one would need plenty of the tipple to make one forget what one has to eat!....

I used to go weak at the knees when at childrens birthday parties and Mums brought out those chocolate birthday cakes. (I'm a bit of a choc-o-holic) Until after the 2nd or third time realised that's ALL most Mum's use for cakes...boxed chocolate.....seeing Sandra's boxed and store bought stuff is not at all appealing.
However, if that is all one is capable of doing then her showing folk how to do it with flare is a good thing, I think.
Perhaps it will encourage them to try from scratch.
Do you think she is so thin as she doesn't really eat what she makes?

joanie, your comment brings to mind one of my favorite sayings "Never trust a skinny chef"

Of course I like it because I am a bit puffy myself!

Debbie

Which is a bit unfair to naturally thin chefs...I have 3 sprogs, all excellent...

chefs and 2 of them are soooooo thin. They eat well and a lot, but here I truly think that it what they eat (and cook)....one has a wheat problem so cuts all that out, yet she eats rice and other starches, they eat ice cream and chocolate almost every dinner and she always devours dessert when we go out?????
Me,I just don't have the luck of staying skinny.

The other makes a diet of "super foods." When she cooks (and plates beautifully) it is salmon, tuna, cheese crisps, sweet potato, legumes, amazing salads, she makes excellent... well, you name it and she makes it. She however Never eats sweet stuff.

The third sprog is an amazing cook and cooks and I guess, eats like I do (anything and everything) and sadly one day she will have a bit of a 'hippy' problem (when she gets to the less excersize age).

When we get together we make an amazing array of yummies but I am the only 'larger' one, boo hoo!
On that note though I have managed to loose 20 pounds.....Yahhhh!...I still need another 30 to go.
