Down-Home Horticlulture uses for banana peels...
From my newest issue of Alabama Gardener:
"Bananas are a good source of phosphorous and potassium for our bodies and the peels supply the same for our garden plants. Because they will decompose very quickly, simply cut up and add to the planting hole for your tomatoes or peppers. You can also use banana peels as supplemental nutrition for roses each spring by placing them in 3- to 4-inch holes aroung the plant. This is a good organic side dressing treatment for most of our landscape and garden plants. Banana peels are also a great addition to the compost pile"
