Another to check out: Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundaes

Different presentation than what we do, but a warm chocolate chip cookie...

...on the bottom and a scoop of good quality vanilla ice cream, along with a squirt of chocolate syrup sure does it for me and my brood!

Restaurants out here make a large cookie for the base (maybe 5 inches across) and serve it with ice cream and choc syrup. They call it a "pizookie" -as in "pizza + cookie".

Actually, we've tried that, and a smattering of chocolate syrup won out.

I know I am in the minority here, but for my clan, there CAN be too much of a good thing!

We found it over-powered the other ingredients.

Just us.

Ya know, I agree. Even *I* can't take chocolate overkill! Sometimes less is more, as they say.

I thought my next door neighbor friend was rich when I was around...

...eight years old. He had Nestle's Quick in his milk for lunch.

We *never* had stuff like that in our house.

I was a weird kid-I disliked chocolate milk and on the one day a week in elementary school

that they served it I went to the fridge & got a carton of plain instead.

I haven't. I have seen it, though. My wife and boys keep a supply...

...of Hershey's in the house at all times, so I've never been inclined to make homemade.

I'll keep it in my file. Thanks!

I have a memory from when I was around 5 years old that sticks with me.

We lived across the street from a dairy farm (downwind too!) and I remember looking out our front window and watching a teenager (maybe about 13?) drink chocolate milk straight from a 1/2 gallon jug.

I thought that was the coolest thing imaginable. I can still see him in my mind's eye!

Michael

We used to make a drink (almost a milkshake) with Bosco, Milk, and Soda--any kind--for variation.
