any good low-fat, low-sugar, low-salt recipes?? I know... just suck all the fun out of life!

It's potassium chloride, rather than sodium chloride, the one we're supposed to moderate. It's

sometimes recommended as a salt alternative, though some people don't like its flavor and, as with any salt/chloride, there may be health considerations. Potassium chloride is a main ingredient of the commercial AlsoSalt salt replacement.

Because we have the advantage of being able to immediately adjust our insulin and/or

activity levels according to what we are eating in order to control our blood sugar levels. We can eat half a plate of brownies, as long as we have an injection or run around the block a bunch of times. Meds for Type 2's, however, work more indirectly than insulin. A common once-a-day drug for Type 2 stimulates the pancreas to produce insulin regardless whether there is any food intake--therefore Type 2's have to adhere to a more controlled diet to match what their meds are doing, rather than, as is the case of Type 1's, matching the meds throughout the day to the food intake or activity.
