Anyone a subscriber to Every Day with Rachel Ray?

I received my November Issue with a letter stating that because the issue contained 40 + pages of Thanksgiving Recipes that they intend to count this issue as a double issue and they are treating it as a special issue that will count toward Two of your subscriber issues. They want you to agree to this, however, if you do not agree you can contact them.

I have just contacted them via email telling them not to do what their intentions are and am waiting a reply. I am now rethinking my renewal.

Truthfully, the issue is o.k., but I have seen many more recipes in other magazines and they are not charging off your subscription.

If you receive the magazine and the letter let me know what you think.

I have checked the magazine forum and there are complaints there also.

That's pretty funny (and maddening). Perhaps they've partnered with the Netflix marketing dept.!

How to Infuriate Your Customers, Vol. 803...

NO common sense! Do they think the people who subscribe are just going to say...

..."Oh my! So many recipes! I think they should charge DOUBLE for this level of excellence!"

Maybe EVOO stands for Extra Volume Offers Overcharge!

So bad.

Michael

OMG! I can't believe it! You have every right to be annoyed and angry! That is unbelievable.

"Dear Everyday with Rachel Ray...."

To the delightfully over-medicated staff at Everyday at Rachel Ray:

You may be surprised to notice that the subscription payment in hand is ONE-HALF of the expected amount. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am treating this payment as a special bonus that will count toward TWO of your subscriber payments. I think you'll agree with me when you look over all of the extra vowels and consonents I have worked so hard to share with you. Therefore, I'm certain you'll agree to this minor change in your payment schedule; however, if you do not agree please feel free to contact me at KISSMYGRITS.com

That is a total scam and no one should agree to it. You paid the price for your subscription

and did not ask them to publish a huge magazine. How greedy is that?

ErininNY, You are so correct....pretty sad state of affairs for the company and powers that be.

I didn't catch this in my issue - thank you for pointing it out..

Although I cannot stand watching RR live - I do think it is a terrific magazine. However - this latest tactic is wrong, wrong, wrong....

Michael, Thank you so much for posting the information on the sale of the magazine. The powers that

be are really stupid to alienate their subscription base.

Just remembering the good old days when the Thanksgiving issue of Gourmet would arrive,

it was so thick, like a little phone book and filled with wonderful pictures and recipes and stories. I would turn down dozens of pages and we have animated family meetings for menu planning purposes waving our fat magazines around in the air, "what about this one!"

Now we get overhyped selfpromoting "personalities" mailing 40 pages of whatever and wanting to charge double for what - that? HA.
