Are there just some foods you can't eat together? I had lunch at a friend's the other

Shiso is the now common name for the Asian culinary herb, seed (spice), or entire annual plant of

Perilla frutescens variety crispa, belonging to the mint family.

It's kind of the ingredient du jour of the hip foodinteligentsia. I don't have a lot of use for it either.

Ugh - I wouldn't even go near those! The strange thing is that my husband can eat tomatoes with tuna

and it tastes fine to him. For me, they make the tuna, which is not fishy, taste fishy!

The only exception for me is if I melt lots of cheese, preferably extra sharp cheddar, over the tomatoes, with the tuna underneath. The cheese does something to kill the fishy taste that the tomatoes create.

cola and a dessert. Ick.

I see people doing this all the time and just don't get it. For me, rich sweet desserts typically take a glass of iced cold milk.

But that's me, there are only three foods that require the drinking of a glass of cola: popcorn, pizza, burger&fries.

All others require wine, beer, or iced tea. LOL

hahaha! our one dog has special food made from sweet potatoes and it stinks to high heaven. why??

Never heard of cooked avocado. What would you do with it? Cooked banana's I "get", cooked

pineapple, I "get"..... Can't wrap my arms around a cooked avocado! I love them, but can't imagine them cooked!

I *love* chocolate and lemon

In Suzanne Goin's Sunday Suppers at Lucques book she has a chocolate ganache-lined tart crust filled with lemon curd and it's one of my all-time favorite desserts.

I know--I sound like one of those old ladies who are like, "You hate sweet potatoes? Well you've never had MY sweet potatoes" LOL

I am a purist when it comes to home-made mashed potatoes. . .

But garlic mashed when I am out in a restaurant--bring me the whole pot!
