serves 8
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
2 unbeaten eggs
2 tbs molasses
1 cup chopped nuts
4 cups chopped apples
Put first 4 ingredients in a mixing bowl; mix
well. Add remaining ingredients; blend and spread
in a greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes.
VARIATIONS:
Omit nuts.
Substitute maple syrup for molasses
Substitute other fruit (plums or peaches work
well)for apples. After baking pour on a topping
made by melting good chocolate in 1/2 cup cranberry/raspberry
fruit juice concentrate.
Actually, i checked with my mom and she said
that Aunt Mill couldn't cook worth a darn and
the recipe couldn't possibly be hers. A rose
by any other name i guess.
