Bad Grocery Store Ad

My grocery sale insert for the week said to "Celebrate Lent with these great seafood specials". I emailed them to let them know that you don't "celebrate" Lent, you observe it. You celebrate Easter.

I think I'm turning into a curmudgeon.

 
It's like ....

those that went around wishing everyone Happy Good Friday...

...Or the smile on a TV reporter's face when he talks about ...

...two children flying out of the back of a pickup truck to their deaths over the weekend.

What are they thinking?

I've made that same comment about other broadcasters (radio & TV)

It's like they're programmed to smile and laugh, regardless of the gravity of the situation. Like they don't even "hear" what they are saying.

Makes me very, very worried about where we're headed as a society. Humans are definitely becoming depersonalized.

 
I suspect that the rapid-fire bank and forth reading off the teleprompter does not even give them

time to adjust their facial expressions and voice intonations from story to story. It certainly comes across as callous though.
