Biscoff Spread - I keep reading about this - Has anyone tried it or the cookies themselves?

Biscoff knock-off recipe versions...

I've been searching for a knock-off recipe for these and have yet to locate one that actually uses just the ingredients as listed on the package. Butter? Orange Zest? White Sugar? Not listed in the ingredients.

Also the spices that people are putting in these knock-offs, I'm just not getting that when I eat a Biscoff (and I did much research last week as I stuffed a couple dozen into my bag while we were waiting in the Delta Sky Lounge for our flight to NYC smileys/smile.gif I'm getting a basic caramel-cinnamon taste, so simple, and the reason they're so wonderful I think. There may be a smidgen of some other spice, but I am not detecting it. Package says "spice (cinnamon)."

I have decided I'm just going to have to experiment with the listed ingredients the next time I am in cookie baking mode (which is going to be awhile) to see if I can come up with one.

Unfortunately, I am aware of this smileys/wink.gif ...

I recently served them with the coffee at a dinner party. They're just the perfect little nibble after dinner when serving the coffee, cognac, and chocolates.

Yes, perfect for after dinner. We used to freeze some for this, but then ate them (sans guests). smileys/wink.gif
