At the last minute some of us in the family decided to go out and see my niece's new house, hang out and munch on whatever might be leftover from Christmas and/or run to the store.

Well, my niece's husband (also a part-time caterer) got a new grill and some how the whole thing snowballed into -- a LOT of food. His grill has a side burner, a full size gas grill, a full size charcoal grill, and a smoker - all stuck into one huge unit.

What I thought was going to be maybe some chips/dip/sammies turned into:

salmon, cod, chicken, tri-tip, ribs, hot links and hot dogs. With dips, chips and sides.

Oh and pardon because it appears auntie might've had a few too many cocktails there too (I wasn't driving)! smileys/smile.gif

Which reminds me...anyone have a great macaroni salad recipe?

Most of the ones I try seem to lack flavor or are overly sweet.

My mom's is great, but no recipe & mine is never as good as hers.

She uses Miracle Whip, not mayo, lots of chopped celery, onion, a little pickle relish & little cubes of mild cheddar. Crunchy & not gloppy wet.

That is a lot of meat.....and so much variety? It all looks so yummy....

How many people did you serve that day?

I've seen a recipe in Cook's Country for one...what's different about it except that the macaroni is

cooked much softer than al dente?
