That pooling butter thing happened to me with truffles about 10 years ago. I'd been ....

making them as Xmas gifts for several years and they were wildly popular (back then they were not yet a cliche). Never found out why it happened. That, together with Hershey cutting down the ounces on their formerly 8oz bar of buttersweet (without notice), led me to drop the whole thing. I now make biscotti and strufoli for Xmas goodies.
