Bummer. Flour and meat prices will probably rise a lot more...and not from yeast.

I was reading a report in NYTimes on the droughts American has been facing and food crops are being hit really bad. Fruit trees and wheat were particularly mentioned: wheat fields...also hay normally used for cattle feed. All of which means food prices will take the hit.

This is getting depressing. I need chocolate.

Yes, we had an early heatwave that decimated our snow pack so water will be at a premium this summer in the west. Wheat started being an issue w the Ukraine war as that area supplies much of the world’s wheat. And w del monte closing canneries, goodbye California peaches. Farmers are tearing out the trees.

Stock your pantries, and you can bet, I’ve got chocolate stocked in mine. Plus, now I’ve got a freezer…emergency ice cream too 😁
