Can I get some feedback?

Okay so here I go

There are so many good speakers about school food - Ann Cooper among them. I have seen half of Lunch Line at a sneak preview and they are having the screening here in a few weeks. There were some excellent folks in that on school food.

Vanderbilt University is undertaking the largest ever research on childhood nutrition and obesity and recently did a documentary that aired on our local PBS station.

If you are reaching for the stars - why not Michelle Obama - I do admire that she has brought school lunches, edible schoolyards, etc. to the forefront.

Dan Barber is an excellent choice. I still like Mark Bittman because he doesn't have 'expertise' in just one area but so many.

Love Anthondy Bourdain and Thomas Keller.

Yeah, I'm thinking they're actual conference is a significant money maker. $6,000 attendance,

no honorariums or travel fees provided. They do have planners working on it all year round and my guess is, the filming and editing expenses are high, and there are some great receptions but this is definitely a case of "what the market will bear."

Okay, Eric Ripert's people have been asked. Work in progress. Next up, Thomas, Tony, and Dan. smileys/smile.gif

I know I am late to this conversation, but I have a suggestion . . .

Without reservation I would suggest Michael Ruhlman. If he speaks 1/16th as well as he writes I would be there in a heartbeat.

I have just finished RE-reading "The Making of a Chef" and I am about ready to RE-read "The Soul of a Chef." Both of these books are on my annual rotation of Re-Reads. These are books that inspire me and nourish my soul and passion!

I am particularly anticipating RE-reading "The Soul of a Cheft" now that Michael Symon is an 'Iron Chef." This will be an interesting read in retrospect.

LOL! I had lunch with his grandson 1 1/2 years ago. (He's in his 60's.) More eater than cook.

Michael is very personable when he talks

it's like having a conversation in your living room - or at least when I had the chance to see him. Very casual and at ease.
