Can I share some good news?

Several months ago, I was approached to write for an on line publication called the Examiner.com. They are affiliated with the Examiner newspapers out of SF, Denver and Baltimore. While it didn't pay much (I couldn't buy a tank of gas on what I get paid), I figured it was a good experience.

Examiner.com has multiple food & beverage writers in 30 cities across the United States and I just learned, my little column...the Seattle Food Scene is #1 in the country! Yowza.

This month I've been busy collecting recipes from the top restaurants in the city. I'm blown away by the great recipes chefs have shared with me. There's a broad range...everything from Peppermint Bark Shortbread to Roast Beet and Pomegranate Soup with Apple-mint Crema. If you get a chance to check out the recipes, do. Many of these are going in my permanent files!

I first visited the old Gail's website as a newlywed whose husband had an affinity for rice. I was just learning how to cook back then and never could have imagined where things have lead to. Thank you.

Congratulations, Traca...but where is your pic? Cappuccino? >>

The Roast Beet and Pomegranate Soup with Spiced Apple-Mint Crema looks wonderful! I think I'll do that for Christmas dinner before the Prime Rib. Since it'll just be the two of us we can have the leftovers cold the next day. Thanks.

Not one bit surprised, darlin! There's no stopping you now!

I feel sure you'll go on to even bigger things! I agree with Marilyn! We can all say we knew you when! smileys/smile.gif That's so neat!

You are great!

Love you, girl!
