Hi All. I've been working on a nationwide project called "Canning Across America." It's an initiative to help connect people to their food and bring back the lost art of "putting food up."

Ball canning has graciously offered me copies of their new 100 Year Anniversary canning book...and I wanted to give y'all first crack at 'em.

If you offer to either 1) host a canning party or 2) teach someone how to can, I've got a book with your name on it!

First 20 to reply gets a book.

Send your mailing addy to:

book.canvolution@gmail.com

(In case you're wondering, I'm managing that e-mail account.)

I would love to if I could find someone who would like to learn. Everyone

I know just wants to come to eat my food. That's great but sad. How to do get people to want to cook?

Got any kids around...or you can borrow? I hear it's a revelatory experience

when they taste food they canned a few months later.

Neighbors, co-workers, volunteer at a community center? More hands make less work. smileys/smile.gif

I have a famous local chef/author, and others interested - setting a meeting for this week hopefully

They loved the idea! I'll let you know what we decide to do but we are going to try to hit on something to coincide with the Aug. 29th? date.

Awesome! And if you know anyone who wants to submit favorite recipes and/or

a blog post, I'm listening!

Drop me a line at seattletallpoppy@gmail.com

I'm wondering if your culinary school might want to get involved? Good teaching elements in canning.

Okay everyone, got you covered. PR elves will be working their magic and

I expect books to be in the mail end of this week.

Happy Canning!
