Hi everyone. Thought I'd check in and see what everyone's cooking. I love fall and fall recipes.

I have two more chemo sessions left, then will have a few weeks off. After that, I will have six weeks of daily radiation treatments.

I'm pretty tired now. I have some neuropathy (numbness) in my fingers and toes, but I think I'll make it through the next two sessions before it gets too bad. Also, my nails are looking rather strange (ridges, and curved inwards--I've cut them pretty short so they don't look so strange). At this point, the dry mouth is the worst side effect (with accompanying bad taste). Also, my diet has gotten pretty bland because anything spicy or rich just does not sit well. I've been eating a lot of protein and iron because my hemoglobin count has gotten pretty low; they though I'd have to have a blood transfusion, but we seem to have avoided that issue. (Yay, steak!)

However, I'm almost DONE and all these side effects will go away. Overall, it's all been pretty manageable and not the horrible nightmare that I thought it would be (although I hope none of you or your loved ones have to do this).

I look forward to getting back in the kitchen for the holidays. Also, that first glass of wine is going to taste really good. smileys/smile.gif
