I found it quite laborious to carefully clean the non-stick surfaces of these machines and the dried bits were always a nuisance.
I found that plading a damp dishcloth over the entire surface and closing the lid, encouraged all the leftover bits to soften after an hour or so. Then I could just wipe it clean with soap.
