Cooking Baking Powder Recipes in the Microwave

My books on microwave cooking recommend using 50% power for the first half of the cooking of quick bread and cakes.

For example, cooking small cake in a mug may be cooked for 2 minutes at 50 % power and then 1 minute at full power. This will give a much more tender result than baking it on high for 2 minutes.
