Scones from the New Joy of Cooking, p. 791
Preheat oven to 425
Mix the following:
2 c. all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Add in:
1 1/4 c. heavy whipping cream
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Stir until moistened. Gather the dough into a ball. Transfer to cookie sheet or stone (I use a cooking stone). Pat the dough into an 8 inch round about 3/4 inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and pop into the oven. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
