dh went to the dr and rec'd I guess not surprising news, his #s are really high..

I agree with you Dawn. It takes awhile to change how you cook/shop etc, so if frozen meals is a

kickstart to this, then it could be a good thing. Makes it easy at first to make some changes. I can't see a grown man getting satisfied on one of those meals though. would have to supplement with some salad or something.

Well, it is going to be at the next family gathering of any kind. If I made this

to keep in my fridge...well, it would be gone very quickly. The orange yogurt sounds so good too. Great recipes!

about 15 years ago I got the first results that were "high"

I read somewhere that garlic was good for cholesterol and began taking garlic pills every day as well as eating raw garlic and roasting it whole with some olive oil. (yes I did begin to smell garlicky) I also almost completely stopped eating fast food of any kind except Pizza...

My numbers went to normal very quickly (within about a year) and have stayed in the normal range ever since even though I stopped taking the garlic pills after about a year. I rarely ever do fast food though and that has been consistent - except pizza but even there I am selective.

We found that giving up "prepared foods" pretty much solved...

the entire issue for us. There are so many chemicals in the products these days that eating frozen meals, or boxed meals is a nightmare if you don't have a degree in chemistry! We dropped our use of frozen entrees, boxed mixes, switched to whole grain breads, and quit using margarine and started using REAL butter cut with olive oil or another light oil...I love rice bran oil! I use herbs and spices for flavor in abundance, and as little salt as I can. Our bad numbers have plummeted.
