Wellllll, I just came from Whole Foods and they no longer sell any Canadian wine. Said it wouldn't
sell, though they didn't really carry many Canadian offerings AND I must say their wine section is really quite small. They said the Inniskill (sp?) ice wine was priced at $85 for a 375 ml bottle. Whoa, that be pricey stuff!! (no wonder it wouldn't sell), but maybe it was just Whole Foods prices. Will have to search elsewhere. The wine dept. manager suggested some sources to try locally.
Didn't score on the wine today BUT they had some amazing coffee I tried for the first time. It's
from the Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Company. The one they were sampling at Whole Foods is called Heart of Darkness, a dark french roast (organic and fair trade). I really really liked it. Can't wait to try it in my espresso machine tomorrow. Realllly liked it alot. If it's as good in my latte as the brewed coffee was today, I'll be their new best customer. Did I mention how much I liked it? ;o)
Target and coffee: our Target carries a few local roasters, and the price is terrific.
We have a Cafe DelMundo Capt. Cook Blend, which is the signature blend for a fancy schmancy hotel downtown, and the 12 oz bag of beans is ---get this--- $3.98. a steal for great coffe. they sell anoter blend, Copper Riner Blend, for the same price. I was wondering if other Targets sell local coffee?
