Did anyone make any New Years cooking-resolutions?

To minimize printing

I try to only save recipes to try in a digital format, in Word. Easy if the recipe is online and even those I see first in a magazine can usually be found with a google search. The recipes are saved in folders by type of food or course. Periodically I open the folder to remind myself of what it contains and only print a recipe when I'm ready to try it.

This has worked well. While I stile have a huge pile of paper recipes from pre-computer days it has not grown appreciably since. Further, I can increase the font for easy reading, edit my changes into the original and share easily.

Hi Cathy! Much like you, I too have a big chunk of the recipes

organized by category in file folders. But the folders are all jam packed full, and the drawers too so I can't fit anything else in them. I guess I need a day or two of serious purging.

I did purge a big stack yesterday. It did feel good! But then,

this morning when I added some empty bottles to the recycle bin I found myself second-guessing and going through a few of the recipes I had tossed into the recycle bin. Didn't bring them back into the house but....ay-yi-yi!!!! LOL

Here's what to try next time

Put the purged pile in a box or manila envelope- anything you cannot see through.

Put aside for two days.

Take back ONLY the recipes you remember.

Guaranteed there won't be any smileys/smile.gif

I use Word also. If I want to try one, I email it to myself and open it on my ipad.

If it's a keeper, then I print it out and move the digital copy to a "worth making again" folder.
