dinner tonight: black bean soup, bread machine oatmeal bread, brussel sprouts. how 'bout you?

Made my middle daughter roast a whole chicken. . .

and with it we had mashed potatoes, gravy and zuchinni.

That was a good chicken. The gravy was great!

Question about the lemons?

They sit while you're doing all the prep. Do you rinse them before chopping? How fine a dice?

Pam, yes, I rinsed and drained the lemons then cut them about the same size as the garbanzo beans.

Hope that helps.

We had a few days in Franche-Comte...

followed by a week in Provence, then 2 days in Paris.

I am now in "repentance" mode. Way too much cheese, wine, pate...

Not a tour...

There is a group of 4 to 5 couples that we have been renting villas with in Italy and France for the past 10 years.
Each trip, Rich & I try to add a bit on the front and back of the week and head in different directions.
This trip, the whole group decided to add a couple of days at the end in Paris, so our pre-villa time was our own.
I had seen an article in the Boston newspaper travel section about the Franche-Comte region and we used that as our guide.
As long as we are allowed to drive in Europe (at age 75 or so, renting a car there becomes impossible) and have the nerve to do it, we'll probably eschew tours.
