Do you folks wash "prewashed" greens or do you trust that they're clean?

My Pop-Pop LOVED Salad bars...I have such fun memories of escorting him around the salad bar

when we would enter the restaurant. He would ooh and aah at the silliest things. Items that I would often make for him. (But never got that response!) Might have been generational, having gone through the depression, but he was just in love with them! I tried to point out the bacteria issues and he wanted no part of it...Even when we saw someone have a loud, productive sneeze into the bread...He acted like he didn't see it...
So funny, great memories, but not my thing!

I agree barb,

a depression era child? My grandmother was the same way. Things had to be CLEAN. But she turned giddy at the site of the "endless bounty" of the salad bar.

I wash all fruit, too... especially after reading about those spiders that come in on the bananas!

I'm there with you at 98. but, I guess I live on the edge cuz I go to salad bars and don't wash

bananas or melons or eggs. And I drink my faucet water too. I haven't had the flu though in 5 years or so---but then I do get a flu shot--or a major cold either. I guess my body likes/needs the bugs.
