Does anyone have or know the name of a small kitchen tool that you insert into cheese

then spin it, it then makes "cheese roses" out of the top very thin layer? Looks fun and great presentation. Caught a glimpse on Hubert Keller's show on PBS.

Any ideas what it is called?

could it be as simple as an old fashioned vegitable peeler? I'll bet it would work.

Nope wasn't it...Tried it on some cheese here, did not have same effect. This one

You inserted alomst looked like a cork screw opener into the cheese, then rotated a small blade around the cheese. I guess, as I am writing this perhaps it also depends on the consistency/shape of the cheese, to make it look like roses! Anyway, it was a very cool quick segment on cheese platters. I believe it's called a "girolle". I have a picture of one in my book about garnishes.

It's typically used for Tete de Moine cheese (in Switzerland) to shave sheets off of it.
